Clear Aligners

Do you want a straighter smile, but the idea of wearing bulky, noticeable braces turns you away from orthodontic treatment?

Dr. Steven Krendl in Littleton, CO, offers clear aligners as a subtle, effective alternative to traditional braces.

Colorado Dental Arts offers two types of aligners: ClearCorrect™ and Invisalign®. Read on to explore the benefits of these treatments...

What Are Clear Aligners?

/

Clear aligners are flexible plastic trays that fit over your teeth and subtly straighten them over time. At our Littleton, CO, practice, Dr. Krendl offers two options for this form of orthodontics: ClearCorrect and Invisalign.

ClearCorrect: Highly Effective Aligners Designed With Patients in Mind

You have options for orthodontic treatment at our Littleton practice. Wondering how to decide between your choices? Let us introduce you to ClearCorrect.

What makes ClearCorrect so effective? It was created by a dentist for his patients.

Dr. Willis Pumphrey kept his patients' preferences in mind when designing the ClearCorrect system. These aligners are made of thin yet durable materials. Patients praise their comfort and ease of use.

If you're looking for a subtle, removable orthodontic treatment option, ClearCorrect may be the right choice for you.

The Visible Difference Between Traditional Braces and Clear Aligners

Comparison of braces and clear aligners
Braces straighten teeth effectively, but there is a trade-off: those noticeable brackets and wires. Clear aligners like those used in the ClearCorrect system, on the other hand, can straighten your smile with discretion. Thanks to their subtle appearance, it's likely that others won't even notice you're wearing them. For more on the advantages of aligners, contact Dr. Krendl in Littleton, CO.

No Need to Search for an Orthodontist Come See Our Experienced Dentist for Your Treatment

We Offer Flexible Financing

Many dental plans will offer coverage for orthodontics, such as clear aligners, but if you are uninsured or have high out-of-pocket costs, the price of treatment may seem daunting. This is why we offer financing through CareCredit®. You can secure a loan with little or no interest and a manageable monthly payment plan to keep your treatment affordable.

Taking a Closer Look At the Typical Clear Aligners Treatment Plan

It usually takes between six and 18 months to straighten your smile with clear aligners.

Consultation

Before Dr. Krendl can begin your treatment, he'll need to see you for an orthodontic consultation. He will check your candidacy for treatment, fully explain your options, and answer any questions you might have.

Taking Impressions

Because ClearCorrect and Invisalign use custom aligners, Dr. Krendl will need to take impressions of your teeth using either an oral scanner or traditional imprints.

Creating Your Aligners

Once Dr. Krendl has made your impressions, he will send them to a trusted lab. Skilled technicians will create a series of clear aligners tailored to your smile.

Wearing Your Aligners

Once you have your aligners, you should wear them for about 22 hours each day. You can remove them to eat and brush your teeth. Remember to regularly clean your aligners with cool water, a toothbrush, and mild soap.

Seeing Your Results

It may take anywhere from six to 18 months to complete your treatment. Once Dr. Krendl confirms you're finished, he will provide a customized retainer for you to wear at night for the next few months. Your retainer will help prevent your teeth from shifting back into their original positions.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Orthodontic Treatment

Practice Good Oral Hygiene

Brushing twice a day and flossing once a day is crucial for your oral health. It can also help prevent gum irritation, which can make wearing your aligners even more comfortable. Be sure to visit Dr. Krendl for regular cleanings and exams as well.

Clean Your Aligners Daily

Your aligners may accumulate debris and bacteria if you do not clean them each day. Simply run them under cool water and clean them with a toothbrush and a mild liquid soap. Washing them with hot water or a dishwasher can warp the plastic.

Don't Eat While Wearing Aligners

If you are using the Invisalign or ClearCorrect system, be sure to take your aligners out before eating or drinking. Clear aligners are durable, but they can still be damaged by chewing or teeth grinding.

Don't Throw Away Your Aligners

It can be tempting to throw your aligners away once you're done using them. Dentists and orthodontists recommend that you keep them in a cool, dry place until your treatment is complete. This will give Dr. Krendl an extra resource in case there are any issues with your progress.

Ask Us Questions at Any Time

We want to give all our patients the tools they need for successful treatment. If you have questions at any time during your Invisalign or ClearCorrect treatment process, you're always welcome to contact our friendly team.
